FC Leytonstone have won their first silverware of 2015 after beating Bow FC 5-1 to lift the Inner London Football League Cup on Monday evening.

Goals from Ibrahim Khan (2), Charles Gyamafi (2) and Zulqi Khan sealed the win for the Lemons.

Twenty-four hours earlier a hat-trick from Bradley Williams helped Leytonstone take another step towards the title, beating Becontree Soccer 4-1.

The win takes Leytonstone to the top of the London City Airport League with two games remaining.

If Millwall Elite drop points and Leytonstone win their two remaining games, they will be crowned champions, otherwise second place is more or less cemented for the Lemons.

Leytonstone started well with Ibrahim Khan and Gyamafi both testing the reactions of the Becontree keeper.

The deadlock was broken on 19 minutes when Williams converted from Arshad Coowar’s delivery with a wonderful finish. The Leytonstone hitman added a second to his tally just before the break with a strike which flew into the top right corner, leaving the Becontree goalkeeper stranded.

Leytonstone further enhanced their lead after the break by replicating their swift breakaway for the third goal once more. A skilful flick from Ahmed Arab freed Gyamafi inside the penalty area, only for the Becontree centre-half to clumsily take him out to earn Leytonstone a penalty. Gyamafi dispatched from the spot elegantly to make it 3-1.

Becontree were allowed back into the contest in the 50th minute when the combination of a defensive error and poor decision-making enabled their centre forward to beat Leytonstone keeper Kevin Rabey.

However, Leytonstone sealed the win with a fourth goal when Williams completed his hat-trick from the spot after he was fouled inside the box.
