FC Leytonstone's treble hopes were ended as they lost a dramatic 11-goal London Cup semi-final thriller 6-5 to Turk Ocaji.

The game saw the referee injured and two players sent off at Bayliss Avenue - the home of Isthmian Division One North side Thamesmead Town.

As the game unfolded it became clear several Turk Ocaji players were a cut above their Leytonstone counterparts and within 20 minutes the scoreline was 3-1 to Turks.

Ahmed Arab gave Leytonstone a lifeline but the Lemons passed up good opportunities to cut the deficit before the break.

Turks added two further goals after the restart and Leytonstone's frustration was compounded when talisman Charles Gyamafi was dismissed for lunging at a Turks player in retaliation for an elbow. The Turks player was also sent off after consultation between the officials.

Substitutes Omer Bashir and Ahmed Pele hauled the Lemons back into the contest; Bashir netting twice and Pele scoring once, whilst Arab grabbed his second to make it 5-5.

With scores level, Leytonstone conceded a corner in the dying moments of normal time and a Turk forward was allowed to head home a dramatic winner.

Leytonstone face Poplar in their next league fixture as they return to the bread and butter of trying to win the London City Airport League.
