IT was double delight for London Borough of Red-bridge Swimming Club, as not only did swimmers improve on their best times and Essex rankings last weekend, but Barclays Bank presented the club with £1,000 sponsorship.

The club hosted their second License four swimming meet at Fullwell Cross on Saturday and Sunday, with several young members achieving new county qualifiying times.

In the nine-year-old category, Billy Dentith, Claire Golightly, Morgan Brown, Mia Newton, Grace Wingrove, Hannah Mansfield and Jessie Lucas all competed in 50m and 200m events, finishing in top six positions and setting lifetime bests.

Mansfield, 200m freestyle and backstroke, Wingrove, 200m medley, Golightly, Dentith, Brown and Newton, all 200m breaststroke, all achieved additional county qualifying times.

Ten-year-olds, Grace Gillard, Stephen Truong, Samuel Kelly, Rosie Morgan, Mia Oakley and Siobhan Dooley all achieved personal best times, winning several medals. Gillard, 100m and 200m medley, and Truong, 200m freestyle, achieved new county times.

In the 11-to-12 years age group Lawrence Brown, Haley Golightly, Grace Mardon, Gemma Randall, Sadie Lucas, Gobika Chandrakumar, Erin Robinson, Tom Beadle, Bowen Ng, Jessica Skeete-Cross, Bethany Johnson, Zac Ross, Anna Keble, Adam Gillard, Sophie Copper, Carly Truong, Emily Cole, Stephanie Emerson, Jonathan Worby, Rebecca Stannard, Lucy warner and Molly Scott swam exceptionally well with many swims placing the swimmers in the top three in the county. In addition, Haley Golightly and Molly Scott, both 200m freestyle and Tom Beadle, 200m breaststroke, achieved county times.

Thirteen-year-olds Ben Jobson, Justine Carron, Amarinder Ruprai, Hannah Hamouda and Lewis Archer achieved top six positions and life time bests in many events.

In the 14 and over events, Bobbie Morgan, James Tappenden, Phoebe Hayes, Alexander Ross, Ellen Scott, Gerogina Man, Emma Francis, Laura Francis, Alice Scott and Craig Moate kept up the success achieving several personal bests.
