REDBRIDGE "got out of jail" on Tuesday as their game against AFC Sudbury was abandoned at half-time as the home side trailed 3-1.

But manager Allan Fenn was left feeling frustrated after changes to the shape of the side were beginning to bear fruit.

He said: "In hindsight we probably got out of jail, but I really felt we had a chance to push on and get back in the game."

Redbridge went 3-0 down to their visitors after what Fenn described as "attrocious and naive" defending, but after a change in set-up pulled a goal back before the break through Charlie Bull.

Fenn said: "A few of them were laughing and joking at half-time, but I pulled them back down a peg or two. We made three substitutions and we were all fired up for the second half and ready to get right back in it, but with the rain coming down the pitch became unplayable.

"It was frustrating."

Redbridge's Saturday game against Aveley was also postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. It will now be played on March 20.

Fenn has re-thought plans to allow Carl Allison and John O'Sullivan to leave the club. The pair were among six players the boss was considering releasing last week, but he said: "They're not going anywhere. We need players like them to dig in."

Chris Perkins, Carl Allison, Chris Sloan, Jermaine Hughes and Ade Olayinka have departed.

Redbridge, 16th in the league, travel to Potters Bar Town on Saturday.
