Redbridge Cycling Club have used a £9,960 grant from Sport England to purchase a professional timing system for use in its races and training.

The club, based at Redbridge Cycling Centre, aim to use the system to help people get into competitive cycling and will be using the timing system both in races and training.

Together with Lee Valley Youth Cycling Club they have also purchased 70 extra transponders, the timing chips each rider needs, so they can use the system in National Youth Races.

The timing system itself is supplied by H S Sports, and made by MyLaps. It is recognised by British Cycling as their timing system of choice for competitive events.

The timer is highly accurate (0.004 sec.) and easy to use. Optimised for both elite and club based racing, once set up results are instantaneous and can be uploaded both live and post event.
