Three Woodford Green with Essex Ladies members finished Sunday’s London Marathon in the top 69 of 38,000 entrants.
And the pick of the trio was Martyn Cryer, who came 23rd overall.
Despite slowing down and losing a couple of minutes in the final three miles, he still crossed the line with a time of 2.25.20.
Daniel Steel finished 61st with a time of 2.30.16 and Harold Wyber came home in a time of 2.30.56, in 69th place.
There were personal bests for Simon Beedell, who beat Paula Radcliffe on her final London Marathon, as well as debutant Adam Mead, who finished in a little over three hours after just a year of running.
