Woodford Green with Essex Ladies’ Omololu Abiodun and Youcef Zatat both picked up wins in the British Universities Championships (BUCS).
Abiodun’s BUCS victory came over 200m where, having won his heat with 21.37 (-0.3 wind) and his semi with 21.57 (+1.6), he was a comfortable winner of the final in 21.41 (+1.9), adding to the indoor title he won in February.
Zatat also built on his indoor title and retained his outdoor title in the shot put with a put of 17.08m.
Elsewhere in the field Lucy Marshall recorded a personal best of 58.36m in the hammer to clinch second place.
Dan Gardner finished second in the pole vault on count-back with 5m and Kashif Jones, sealed second in the high jump with 1.98m, having cleared a personal best of 2.01m to qualify.
Emily Moss made the women’s 1,500m final but did not start having recorded 4.38.35 to qualify from her semi-final heat.
Competing at Fort Worth, Texas, Sam Watts won over 200m in a useful 20.72 (+2.0).
