Essex karting Champion Lochlan Bearman endured another tough afternoon in round four of the Hunts Kart Racing Club Championship at Kimbolton.
Currently leading in his Mini Max kart, the 13-year-old endured a day full of problems but eventually took home third place on Sunday.
Bearman commented: "It always good to be on the podium but we have had issues for the past few races so we need to resolve them very soon."
Having finished second, third and fourth in three qualifying heats, the Theydon Bois-based teenager began on third for the final.
Bearman drove well to move into second place and looked to be biding his time for an assault on the lead until he was passed with four laps remaining. Unable to claw back the momentum he was left to settle for third.
Father John added: "In the end this was damage limitation and given the problems quite a good result.
"We will now have to spend some time to understand if we have an engine problem and also determine what is causing the handling problems."
