Essex Sunday Corinthian Football League

Premier Division

Woodbridge have slipped into Division One after losing 5-2 at home to West Thurrock on the final day of the season.

Survival was always unlikely, owing to Woodbridge’s minus 33 goal difference heading into the final day, however, with both sides above them having completed their league season an unlikely swing in victory would have kept them up.

But they came up short and goals from Scott Meyers, Robert Carroll, Daniel Amagatcher and Joshua Perry (2) sunk Woodbridge.

Runners-up Warren United ended the season with a 2-1 home win over EMWA.

Goals from James Peagram and Charlie Pegram cancelled out Kacey Adam’s strike for the visitors.

Division One

Champions Ainslie Wood celebrated their title triumph in style by trouncing Archers Athletic 11-1.

Eric Kelly led the way with a remarkable four-goal haul, whilst Niall Mullins (2), Marc Cologne (2), Courtney Wedderburn, James Sims-Williams and Jonathan Carter all got in on the act.

Wood meet Aldborough Hatch in the division’s final fixture.

A Kalium Fletcher hat-trick ensured Lonsdale ended with a flourish, beating Warren United Reserves 3-2 away from home.
