LOASS (Leyton Orient Advanced Soccer School) Under-15 Girls have completed the double after adding the league to their haul for the season.

Having already won the Capital Girls League Cup, LOASS signed off with a 5-1 drubbing of Charlton Athletic WFC to clinch the league title.

The east Londoners took to the field knowing that at least a draw would hand them the title to add to the silverware they lifted the previous weekend.

LOASS went 1-0 up inside 12 minutes with a strike from Lauren George from the apex of the box.

To their credit, Charlton stayed in the game and threatened the LOASS goal on a couple of occasions during the remainder of the half, which saw the south Londoners net in the dying minutes of the half, completely against the run of play.

A re-invigorated LOASS side emerged in the second half and quickly saw their relentless attacking result in a goal from Shawna Harvey and a second for George just five minutes later.

And a powerful strike from in-form winger Seren Ahmet, after brushing off the attentions of the Charlton defenders with ease, saw the ball strike the inside of the upright before nestling into the back of the net for a fourth.

Charlton struggled with the pace up front from the cup winners and some very tidy midfield work and strong defending allowed LOASS to once again net, George completing her hat-trick.

Head coach Joe Sheehan said afterwards: “The fervour and guile shown by the girls throughout this campaign is testament to the attitude and hard work they put in both in training and on the pitch during matches.

“Next season we will be going into a new and revised league. We need to play better and work harder to maintain this wonderful record.”
