New Waltham Abbey boss Martin Hayes will see his side kick off the Isthmian Division One North season at home to Brightlingsea Regent next month.

The fixtures for the 2015/16 campain were released on Thursday and the Abbots will begin the campaign at home to the R’s on Saturday, August 8.

Meanwhile, Redbridge, who were handed a dramatic reprieve from relegation to the Essex Senior League over the summer, will start at home to Witham Town.

Boxing Day will see the Abbots host Cheshunt while Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton’s men will be at home to Harlow Town.

The reverse fixtures have been scheduled for January 2, with Redbridge travelling to Chesunt and Abbbey to Harlow.

The season ends on Saturday, April 23, with Waltham Abbey hosting Redbridge. The other meeting between the two is pencilled in for Saturday, December 5.

Redbridge lost 3-1 to Essex Senior League side Bowers & Pitsea on Tuesday evening in their second pre-season friendly.

Essex Senior League new boys Wadham Lodge won Saturday’s triangular tournament involving Galleywood and Newbury Forest but coach Neil Day was far from impressed with some areas of their play.

He said: “We conceded twice against Newbury and I wasn’t happy with the defensive organisation on both occasions. If you leave players unmarked in the six-yard area you are going to get punished at a higher level.

“The wall for the second goal was very sloppy despite being a good strike and we must tighten up if we want to be competitive in the Essex Senior League.”

On Tuesday Wadham lost 2-0 to Frenford Senior with a side including in a number of trialists.

Waltham Forest were crushed 4-1 at home by Woodford Town in their second pre-season friendly on Saturday.
