Old Loughtonians fell to their first defeat of the season in the East Premier Division on Saturday, losing 2-1 to Cambridge City.

Top of the league and unbeaten prior to the game, Loughts made the brighter start of the two sides but it was Cambridge who broke the deadlock before half-time, doubling up after the break.

And although Loughts pulled one back through Will Hopkins they couldn’t force an equaliser.

Loughts ladies were held to a goalless draw by St Albans Seconds in the East League Premier Division.

With Loughts having faltered, Wapping moved into top spot with a 4-2 win at Blueharts.

Goals from Mark Bennett, Phill Messent, Michiel Marck and Grant Aidoo-Nash sealed the win but coach Ryan D’Souza wasn’t totally satisfied.

He said: “We have set ourselves very high standards this season and although we scored four goals we are disappointed not to have killed the game off earlier given the chances we created.”

Wapping ladies remain top of East Division One South after edging out Stevenage 3-2.

Holly Colvin, Cleo Lynn and Lucy Todd all scored for Wapping with the visitors hitting back too late to inspire a turnaround.

Crostyx put in a five-star show to crush Colchester 5-1 in East Division Two South. Colchester took the lead but a five-goal blitz from Dan Willoughby, Dan Hunn, Jake Burke, Joe Whitehead and James Lawes saw Styx seal a spectacular win.

Crostyx ladies drew 2-2 with local rivals Waltham Forest in Division Two Central, goals from Sarah Belsham and Laura Feldman late on doing the damage.
