Redbridge picked up their first Isthmian Division One North win in 14 games on Saturday, moving off the bottom of the table with a 3-1 win over Soham Town Rangers.
Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton’s side had endured 13 consecutive league losses prior to Saturday but overcame fellow strugglers Soham to rise to 22nd place.
The Motormen took the lead in an open contest at Oakside Stadium in the 62nd minute when Joe Gent was fouled in the penalty area.
Jay Knight converted the subsequent penalty to put the hosts in front before William Drake stabbed home a second ten minutes later.
Soham hit back in the 74th minute when Ryan Sharman rose highest to head home but Knight restored Redbridge’s lead with 12 minutes to play by adding his second of the afternoon.
The Motormen host Maldon & Tiptree on Tuesday before travelling to Corinthian Casuals in the FA Trophy first qualifying round on Saturday.
