Old Loughtonians came back from two goals down to draw 3-3 away at Bedford which puts them third in the East Premier Division.

Bedford started sharply and Loughts quickly found themselves a goal behind.

However, despite their poor start Loughts were able to compose themselves and drew level through Shane Martin.

Ten minutes before the break Bedford were back in front from a short corner and early in the second half they extended their lead further to leave Loughts trailing 3-1.

But the east Londoners rallied and dragged themselves level with efforts from Luke Mepham and Martin again.

Loughts are now set to face Dereham on Saturday.

Meanwhile Old Loughtonians’ ladies lost 1-0 to Bedford in the East Women’s Premier.

They were put under pressure immediately and conceded an early goal. Loughts came back stronger but could not find an equaliser.

Wapping won 4-2 away at Dereham in the East Premier Division to keep them within two points of top of the table St Albans.

Two goals apiece for Michiel Marck and Grant Aidoo-Nash did the damage for high-flying Wapping.

Wapping ladies remain top of the East Division One South after grabbing a 1-1 draw at Colchester. Captain Lucy Todd scored the Wapping goal to ensure they did not leave empty handed.

Elsewhere Crostyx were trounced 5-1 by Wapping Thirds on a day to forget for Styx.

Crostyx ladies fared rather better though, overcoming Brentford 1-0 thanks to an Alys Rowland strike.
