Eton Manor missed the chance to pick up their first win since promotion to National League Three on Saturday as they went down 12-10 at home to fellow new-boys Wimbledon at the New Wilderness.

That defeat means it is now eight straight losses for Jamie Connors' men, who lie bottom with just two points to their name at this stage.

In a tight contest it took 35 minutes to open the scoring; Manor punished for their failure to clear after winning the scrum as Wimbledon went over to make it 5-0.

Damian Horton reduced the arrears 15 minutes into the second half by kicking a penalty but Wimbledon replied with a converted try five minutes later to go 12-3 in front.

But Manor were not done there and when Nick Horton fed debutant Luigi Martelletti, he showed a great deal of potential by scampering down the wing and going over at the death, with the successful conversion the last act of the game.

In London One North, mid-table Chingford were trounced 29-0 at North Walsham.

Woodford fared better in London Two North West, picking up a 25-15 victory at home to leaders Fullerians which leaves them in fifth – two points off the summit.

In London Three North East, Epping Upper Clapton picked up a resounding 45-0 win at Wanstead which sees them extend their lead at the top to six points over West Norfolk.
