Wapping stay top of East League Premier A following a 3-1 victory over Cambridge City Seconds on Saturday.

Goals from Ollie Davies, Duncan Graves and Matt Hyden mean Wapping are a point clear of City of Peterborough in second.

The Ladies were also victorious, overcoming Upminster 3-1, and boast a seven-point lead over Holcombe ‘A’ and have a game in hand over the second placed side in Division One South.

Natasha Close put Wapping into the lead, a clever slip-pass enabling her to slot home with ease.

Katie Radford made and finished the second, pressurising the Upminster backline before firing past the helpless goalkeeper.

And the killer third arrived shortly after the restart, Close deflecting home a precise pass from Radford.

Upminster got one back on the counter but it didn’t affect the outcome for Wapping.

The men’s Fifths beat Brentwood 2-1 whilst the Sixths crushes Colchester Seconds 6-2 and Sevenths brushed aside Colchester Thirds 3-1.

The ladies’ Fourths draw 3-3 with Witham whilst the Sixths crushed Southend Third 6-0. The Sevenths battered East London Sevenths 7-0.

Old Loughtonians ladies lost 2-1 at Tunbridge Wells whilst the men saw their fixture postponed.

The Seconds were the most senior Crostyx side in action due to heavy frost but they beat the weather and Redbridge & Ilford Seconds.

Their 5-2 victory means Styx move into second position in Division Five South East.

The ladies’ Seconds clinched a 3-1 win at Colchester which keeps them top of Essex Women’s Hockey League Division 1.
