Redbridge still prop up the Isthmian Division One North table and are nine points from safety following a 5-1 thumping at leaders AFC Sudbury.

The match was finely poised at 1-1 until the 50th minute when Redbridge's William Drake was given a straight red card for an elbow on Ryan Henshaw.

Table toppers Sudbury had gone in front when Jack Newman's inviting cross was headed home by Luke Callander – the former Chelmsford City man's 20th of the season already.

The Motormen levelled in first-half stoppage time, though, to go in level at the break; Charlie Portway on target.

Five minutes into the second half the complexion of the game changed as Drake was sent off.

It took just four minutes for Sudbury to ram home that advantage, Callander setting up Sam Clarke.

Redbridge's Stephen Good then handled the ball inside the penalty area. From the resulting spot kick Callander got his second.

Good's afternoon was complete when he scored an own goal on the hour – the third goal Redbridge had conceded in ten minutes since losing Drake.

Callander wrapped the win up by completing his hat-trick from the spot.

Redbridge host Great Wakering Rovers on Saturday.
