Redbridge's London Senior Cup run came to an end at the semi-final stage on Tuesday evening as they lost 1-0 at home to Isthmian Premier Division side Hendon.

Kezie Ibe scored the only goal of the game after 19 minutes to send the Greens into a seventh final in 11 years.

On Saturday Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton’s side were undone by former striker Jacob Cleaver as they lost 2-1 at home to Great Wakering Rovers.

Defeat leaves the Motormen bottom of Isthmian Division One North, 11 points from safety with eight games remaining.

Redbridge made the worst-possible start and fell behind after just two minutes when Jay Nash latched onto a through ball and dispatched past keeper Callum Chafer.

Nash might have doubled up two minutes later but the hosts survived.

Nick Skelton, also formerly of Redbridge, passed up another chance to kill off the hosts early on.

Rigers Kabashi had the Motormen’s first chance after 17 minutes but his free-kick caused no threat.

At the other end Chafer was kept busy to deny Nash and John Bradley.

Redbridge, despite scarcely threatening the visitors’ goal, went in level at the break. Carlos Espirito-Santo worked his way into the penalty area before firing past Adam Seal in the Rovers goal.

That goal lifted the Motormen and they enjoyed the better of the chances after the break. Espirito Santo and Reside Coxi-Sebastfao both went close to scoring without beating Seal.

The game looked set for a draw until, with eight minutes remaining, Cleaver weaved through a couple of challenges before stabbing the ball beyond keeper Chafer to win the contest.

Redbridge have now lost eight in a row in league and cup and their chances of survival are fading fast.

The Motormen travel to Dereham Town on Saturday before Tilbury visit in the Essex Senior Cup on Tuesday.
