Wadham Lodge coach Neil Day says shirts are up for grabs after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Stansted in the Essex Senior League.

The Airportmen took an early lead and it looked like being a disappointing week for Tony Ievoli’s men after losing 2-0 at Takeley in the League Cup quarter-final last Wednesday.

However, a depleted Lodge rallied and snatched a point through Arthur Coelho' penalty.

Speaking afterwards Day said: "It’s been a tricky little period and availability has tested the quality of our squad. The boys coming in did well on Saturday and shirts are up for grabs with some big games coming up.

"We were given what some might consider a soft penalty after half time but I felt we should have had another in the last minute when our forward was bundled to the ground.

"It looked clear-cut to me but maybe the earlier decision was involved in the officials' thought processes. I’m happy with a point but felt that should have given us all three against a good side."

Wadham travel to Clapton on Tuesday night for a Gordon Brasted Trophy semi-final tie.
