London Raiders limp to the finish continued on Sunday with a 10-2 trouncing at Wightlink Raiders.

Defeat leaves Alan Blyth's side eighth in the National Ice Hockey League South One with three games of the regular season remaining.

The visitors fell behind to Alex Sampford's strike after just two minutes.

Craig Tribe added a second after a quarter-of-an-hour. The one-way traffic continued with two goals in quick succession from Daniel Rose and Ryan Webb; a minute separating the goals.

The goals continued to flow for the Isle of Wight outfit with a brace for Aaron Edwards added to by Corey Watkins and Ben Paynter.

Tempers boiled over at the end of the middle period with Raiders’ Mason Webster trading blows with Danny Ingoldsby.

Double minors for roughing were given against both with the period ending 58 seconds early to allow blood to be cleared from the ice.

Wightlink’s ninth goal followed 38 seconds into the final period with Watkins adding his second of the evening.

London finally got on the scoreboard when Seb Downing converted from Marek Nahlik’s pass.

Czech import Nahlik then got in on the act with Sam Roberts assisting.

But there was still time for the hosts to reach double figures with Tribe converting five minutes before the end of a miserable evening.
