WALTHAM Forest Amateur Boxing Club (ABC) is continuing to have its best season for many years after securing their third champion of the campaign in a busy period for the Highams Park club.

Brad "The Assassin" Anderson became the London Golden Belt Champion at 80kgs at Earlsfield on Sunday after beating Junior ABA Finalist S Karambley of Bexley by a unanimous decision.

The Forest fighter was up against the odds from the start when he failed to make the weight he was entered in which was 75kgs, Ian Cuddy club secretary added: "Brad came in at 81.5 so had to go up a weight category. But he handled the bout superbly as it was a very demanding fight both physically and mentally." Anderson will now represent London on June 10 at Earlsfield in south London.

Prior to that and still undefeated this season was Danny "The Machine" Love who boxed well to secure a victory over R Vinden from New Astley on the Norwich Lads Open Show.

Continuing his comeback was Carl "The Thunder" Bolt, who was stopped in the second round by a very strong opponent in G Goddard from Canvey.

Chevez "Quickfire" Smith also was stopped by P Fanneran of Dale Youth making it one win on the night for the Forest team.

Aaron "Bad Boy" Brown secured his first win of the season by beating O Rutherford from Cray Valley on their open show on Saturday in Orpington. The Waltham Forest vice captain won by a majority in a very strongly fought contest with both boxers getting a lot of support from the crowd. The night ended with Brown also winning the best away boxer of the night which was quite an honour as there was 18 bouts on the programme.
