Since his days of playing Rugby League in London, English rugby league maestro Luke Gale has gone from strength to strength.

And now, the new England star has his sights set on returning to London to take on Australia next month.

On Sunday, November 13 rugby league heads to the London Stadium on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the highlight of this year’s Ladbrokes Four Nations tournament, England versus Australia.

The 29-year-old, who currently plays for Castleford Tigers, previously played for Harlequins RL, now known as London Broncos, scoring over 250 points for the London club in two seasons – a vital part of his career.

Gale said:“I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing in London. It is a fantastic city to not only live in, but the passion for all sport is incredible.

“I am looking forward to returning there in November to face the Australians in our biggest match of the Ladbrokes Four Nations tournament.”

Gale won his first England cap in the recent 40-6 victory again France in Avignon, and the half-back will be looking forward to securing his place in England’s Four Nations squad.

“I want to be in the England squad running out against the Australians in London next month," he added.

"England versus Australia is one of the biggest sporting rivalries and one that I have always wanted to play in.

“We have a very strong squad and being led by Sam Burgess, having him back in the game, is a massive boost for us all. Wayne Bennett is an excellent coach and we have a great squad in place.”

England have never won the Four Nations, which this year includes Australia, New Zealand and Scotland and will see the four international sides battle it out across the country.

Saturday will see England take on New Zealand in a sold-out John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield.

After this weekend’s clash against the Kiwis, England meet Scotland in Coventry next Saturday and then on to what is billed as the highlight of the tournament, Australia at the London Stadium.

England Rugby League return to London on Sunday, November 13 (2pm) to take on World Cup holders Australia at London Stadium.

This will be the first time these two sides have met on home soil since 2013.
