East London Runner Scott McMillan rounded off a fine October by being named the club’s runner of the month.

McMillan improved his personal best twice at the Wanstead Flats parkrun and his time is now at 18.19 for the 5k distance.

The runner also set fast times at the Orion 15-mile, which is recorded at 2.01.25 and in the ELVIS 5k/5 mile series and a number of half-marathons.

His best time in a half-marathon culminated with a personal best of 1.26.16 at the Ealing Half Marathon at the end of last month.

In the Beachy Head Marathon Thomas Grimes recorded another great time as he crossed the line in sixth in 3.09.12.

There was a family affair at the race with husband and wife Fiona and Kieran Day running together crossing the line in 950th and 951st in times of 5.31.44 and 5.31.43 respectively.

Eldest son Alex Day was second back for the club as he finished in time of 3.21.13 coming in 12th.

Sally Faulker adopted for a different approach as she ran with her dog Flop as they both managed a sprint finish clocking a time of 7.33.00.

Dan Gritton also gained a personal best at the weekend as he came sixth at the Emer Casey London 10k in a time of 36.53.
