Theydon Bois Golf Club played host to the talented Smith family who collected more antique silverware last week.

Connor Smith is the latest proud member of the talented clan to post his name on golf club’s honours board.

The 21-year-old won the 102 year old Theydon Challenge cup to seal the prestigious privilege.

He eased to victory in the major competition to join brothers Marshall, Ross and father Murray in the exclusive winners enclosure.

And after collecting the trophy he told the club:”I set my sights on following in the footsteps of my Dad and brothers.

“I went out and practised at the Driving Range twice a week in the winter,” he said “It was a great feeling when the hard work paid off.”

Smith’s win was underpinned with a second round net 62 in the 36 hole event.

The runner-up of the event, Chris Sproat, was seven shots adrift of the overall winner.
