The East London Runners were back in action last weekend, with a number of their members taking part in events across the country.

Some 25 East London Runners entered the Orion 15m cross country race in Epping Forest and it was Thomas Grimes who secured an excellent fifth place finish with a time of 1:39:12. Alex Day, Andrew Baxter, Patrick Brown and Stuart Kelly all finished in the top 100, with all the competitors from the East London group completing the course in just over three hours.

On Sunday, five members of the group were in action at the London Landmarks Half Marathon and it was Jamie Xavier who came out on top for the East London Runners, finishing in a time of 1.38.14.

Elsewhere, Emily Clarke and Lucy Barron both recorded personal bests in the Bedford 20m, while Antonio Martin Romero secured a respectable 7th place finish in the Colchester Half Marathon.

Paul Quinton secured a place on the podium at the Run Fest Lee Valley Half Marathon, completing the course in 1.15.35 to finish in third spot, while Ciaran Canavan ran home in 43rd position at the Liverpool Half Marathon, which saw almost 4000 people take part.

Lastly, Marc Akers crossed the finish line in a time of 3.18.33 at the Oundle 20m, while Don Bennett completed the Sportive UK Ware Cambridge in just over four hours.
