WHILE Leyton FC have endured a tough season, the ladies team has achieved success on league and cup fronts.

Leyton Ladies - who have a direct association with Leyton FC - finished runners-up in the Greater London Womens Football League Division Two North.

They were the only team to have taken points off the eventual champions Hemel Hempstead, beating them 2-1 towards the end of the season.

In the League Cup, the team has progressed to the final, after beating Surbiton Town Ladies 4-2 in the semi-final. Surbiton finished third in League One.

Their quarter-final opponents, Flamingoes - champions of Division Two South - had had a 100 per cent league and cup record until Leyton beat them with a patchwork team, 3-1.

The final will be played against Enfield Town Ladies Reserves, who are division one champions.

And, for the second year running, Leyton Ladies will also be contesting the final of the Ryman League Ladies Cup.

After losing to Dulwich Hamlet last season, Leyton will be looking for better success against AFC Wimbledon Ladies this time around.

Details of the final matches are yet to be confirmed.
