SPURS midfielder Jermaine Jenas has been handed a late call-up into the England squad for the friendly against the Czech Republic on Wednesday.
The former Newcastle man had originally been left out of Fabio Capello’s 23-man squad, but an injury yesterday to former Tottenham midfielder Michael Carrick has earned Jenas a recall.
The 25-year-old would have been disappointed at originally being left out, particularly after scoring in Capello’s first Three Lions squad in the 2-1 win over Switzerland in February.
Jenas will now be hoping to impress in the Wembley clash as he looks to stake a claim to make the squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers with Andorra and Croatia.
