JONATHAN Woodgate was the only member of Fabio Capello's England squad to sit out a training session today.

Woodgate is in contention to feature in Wednesday's friendly against the Czech Republic but the defender was given leave from the formal session at Arsenal's London Colney training ground for fear of aggravating his long-term fitness problems.

Woodgate played the entire 90 minutes in Tottenham's 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday and as a precaution sat out the session, while the rest of the 23 man squad took part.
