ARSENE Wenger is still in the market for another central midfielder as he bids to compensate for the loss of Mathieu Flamini, Gilberto and Alexander Hleb.

The Frenchman is known to be a fan of Liverpool's Xabi Alonso and Aston Villa's Gareth Barry but both are now cup-tied for Europe until January. According to the Daily Mail, that is likely to put Wenger off of a move for one of the pair and he may be forced to look further afield, with Udinese's Swiss international Gokhan Inler thought to be topping his hitlist.
