NACER Barazite is thought to be a target for Derby County, who want to take the forward to Pride Park on loan.

The Dutchman impressed in pre-season for the Gunners, scoring against Barnet and Rushden & Diamonds while he also enjoyed a strong season with the reserves and academy last year.

However Arsene Wenger may feel that the Dutch under 19 international would gain some valuable first-team experience with the Rams, as former Arsenal player Arturo Lupoli enjoyed a fruitful spell there while he was on the Gunners' books, scoring 11 goals in 20 starts.

Derby boss Paul Jewell wants to bolster his midfield, and the versatile Barazite is able to fill in across the middle of the park, although his natural position is playing in a more advanced role.

"We've got good competition up front, at the back and in the wide areas but we are light on competition in midfield," Jewell said on Friday.
