MEDIA reports claim Emmanuel Adebayor's new long-term deal with Arsenal could be worth a staggering £80,000 a week.
The Gunners have always been known to employ a strict pay structure, but according to the Times, the Togolese striker has agreed a deal to keep him in north London until 2012 that sees his previous wages more than doubled after a summer of dalliances with AC Milan and Barcelona.
Adebayor was booed by fans at the Emirates in the team's 1-0 opening day win over West Brom and was seen to storm off the pitch after the final whistle.
Arsene Wenger has jumped to Adebayor's defence and has urged the supporters to get behind the 30-goal forward this season.
