ARSENAL forward Nacer Barazite has agreed a month-long loan move to Derby County.

Barazite joins Derby after an impressive pre-season campaign with the Gunners, where he also excelled last season in the reserves. The deal comes with an option to extend the loan until the end of the season but there is no agreement that would give the Rams the chance of securing him on a permanent deal.

Arsene Wenger clearly feels some first-team experience will do the Dutch under 19 international the world of good and Derby boss Paul Jewell is enthusiastic about what Barazite could bring his team and hoped that it could signal the start of a prosperous future link with the Gunners.

"Nacer is young but has played in their first team and he will come here to join up with our first team squad," he said. "I am quite keen to get a link-up with some top teams and I spoke to Arsene Wenger over the summer about a few players.

"Nacer is going to be a good player and if he does well here then hopefully we can keep him for longer than the month.

"He is an exciting prospect, a very good footballer and he will be a good addition to our squad."
