TEEMU Tainio appears set to miss out on an emotional return to Spurs this weekend with a leg strain.
The Sunderland new boy has been withdrawn from the Finland squad at the last minute and now appears to be a major doubt to face his old club.
"Teemu is a doubt for the weekend,” Black Cats boss Roy Keane told the Hartlepool Mail.
"We don't believe the injury is serious but it might keep him out of the Spurs game.
"He's come back from Finland and we just have to see how he gets on."
