ARSENAL keeper Manuel Almunia believes Theo Walcott's new aggressive approach has helped him become the 'most exciting young English player' in the country.

The Spaniard believes the introduction of a 'furious' side to the young forward has seen his game come on leaps and bounds this year, with Walcott already making a huge impact for the national side, scoring a stunning hat-trick in England's 4-1 win in Croatia.

"Theo was too nice on the pitch in the last two years,” said Almunia. “This season you can see when he gets tackled he gets furious sometimes. That's a good thing and shows he is growing up.

“I spoke with him and told him that you have to be a bit more aggressive and not be so nice on the pitch.

"For me, Theo is the most exciting young English player I've seen by far. His skills are incredible."
