Waltham Forest 2
Broxbourne 2

(NE14 Hockey East League Div 2SW)

WALTHAM Forest ladies took a well-earned point from a tough encounter with Broxbourne at the Douglas Ayre.

The hosts started the game in good form, with excellent passing and possession.

They scored the opening goal from a penalty corner. Ayleen Duske's superb strike finding the corner of the goal.

A defensive error put paid to the good work soon after. A Broxbourne forward latched on to Kathryn Tucker's ineffective hit out and chipped the home keeper Mog Campbell to equalise.

The goal have the visitors the impetus and they dictated play after the break.

It was no surprise when they hit the backboard next with an an excellent penalty corner strike which had enough height to go over Campbell's outstretched glove.

Despite coming close to equalising on several occassions through open play, it was another Duske penalty corner that did the business for the hosts.

This time a perfect drag flick from the top of the circle into the top corner of the goal beat the defence and drew Forest level.

The ladies are away at Wapping 2s at the weekend.
