ATHLETICS
ORION Harriers hosted their annual Primary Schools Cross Country event on the Chingford Plains last weekend.
Braving the cold autumn weather, Woodford Green Prep School certainly warmed to the task in hand as they ran away with first place in both the boys' team and girls' team events on the energy-sapping course.
There was well in excess of 100 runners in both races, making the two team awards an outstanding success for Woodford Green.
Yardley achieved a second place finish in the boys' run followed by Greenleaf in third place.
For the girls, Chingford C of E came home in second and Bancroft's finished third.
In the boy's individual standings, Callum McLarty of Greenleaf won the gold medal and there were second and third places for the Chingford C of E duo Morgan Letchford and Albie Drew.
Grace Jenkins from Woodford Green won the girls' gold medal, Bella Hoy from Nightingale won the silver and Saffron Earl from Woodford Green won the bronze.
