CHELSEA skipper John Terry has urged fans and media alike not to pin all their hopes on Arsenal's Theo Walcott for England's World Cup campaign.

The Three Lions take on Kazakhstan and Belarus during the international break as they look to stamp their authority on Group Six, and many are looking to Walcott to put in another match-winning performance after his heroics in Croatia.

The Gunners' winger scored a sensational hat-trick as England marched to a 4-1 victory in Zagreb, but Terry has warned that there are plenty of other exciting players in the side who can make a similar impact.

He said: “The lads all said that Theo came out of his shell a bit on the last trip with England.

“But let’s not put too much pressure on him. He is an exciting talent and a really good player for the future and for this campaign.

“But we must not start saying it is all down to him and that he is the only way forward.

“We have the likes of Theo, Wayne Rooney and Joe Cole. Let’s tell them all to play their normal game like they are back in the playground.

“At the World Cup two years ago, everyone was looking at Theo. But he didn’t get his chance.

“Everyone gets on the edge of their seat with him. He causes lots of problems. Arsene Wenger can look after him well enough when he is with Arsenal, when he comes away with England we don’t want to put too much pressure on him.”
