TOTTENHAM sporting director Damien Comolli has promised the club's supporters that they will turn things around.

The director, who is in charge of transfer policy, has come under fire from supporters for failing to find a suitable replacement for the departed Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane.

New signing Roman Pavlyuchenko has so far struggled to impose himself on the English game, and Frazier Campbell – who arrived as part of the deal taking Berbatov to Manchester United – has yet to be given a significant chance to prove himself. With Darren Bent also failing to hit the high notes, fans have chose to vent their anger at Comolli, whose position is reported to be in the balance, with chairman Daniel Levy ready to wield the axe.

But the Frenchman remained defiant in the face of adversity, and insisted results would improve, with the club currently languishing at the foot of the Premier League with just two points to their name from seven games.

"The only thing I can say is that everyone at the club, the staff and the players, are working very hard to turn things around and to bring positive results,” Comolli told Sky Sports.

"The message to the fans is that everyone is working very hard and we will turn things around."

Comolli issued his own subtle plea to the board not to sack him, insisting the only way to move forward was by everyone sticking together.

He told BBC Sport: "We need stability. We don't need change. We need to get results.

"As a club we are very united - the board and the coaching staff, the players and the coaching staff, and the players and the board. We are in this together so we don't want to single out anyone."
