WOLVES boss Mick McCarthy has told Arsenal target Wayne Hennessey that he should remain at Molineux for the foreseeable future.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has been frequently linked with a move for the highly-rated keeper, although it is thought it would take a bid in the region of £10million to prise him out of the Midlands.

Everton have also shown an interest in the 22-year-old, but McCarthy has stepped in to persuade Hennessey that his future is with Wolves.

He said: “Wayne has only had one full season in the Championship and he is getting better and better. He’s recognised that his development is best served by staying here.”
