Chingford hit the comeback trail

10:10am Friday 10th October 2008

FOOTBALL

CHINGFORD TOWN FC marked their first game back after a five-year absence with a 7-2 thrashing of Crescent Rangers.

Rigers Lulaj was the star of the show, the 16-year-old scoring four goals.

Liam Gallagher added a brace and James Webster grabbed the goal of the game in the Enfield and Alliance League fixture at the Townsmead Leisure Centre, Waltham Abbey.

Club chairman Kevin Ryan said: “It's been my dream to get this team back up and running.

"After five years I’ve realised that no one man can run the club, and it has been a struggle.

"But thanks to the Lustick family it has become possible again.”

Ryan is now looking to get the club back playing at their original home at Newgate Street, Chingford and is looking for donors and sponsors.
