SPURS star David Bentley has revealed his frustration at being dropped from the England squad to face Kazakhstan and Belarus this week.

The former Blackburn star has often found himself played out of position since his £15million summer switch from Blackburn and has struggled to settle so far back in north London.

The former Arsenal winger even found himself benched on Sunday for the match with Hull, before being brought on at right-back by under-fire Tottenham boss Juande Ramos.

And as a result England boss Fabio Capello has left him out of the two latest World Cup qualifiers, much to Bentley's frustration.

“I’ve been in all the recent England squads and obviously I’m disappointed not to be in this one but that’s the way it is,” he told the Sun.

“If I was the manager I might have done the same. I just have to deal with it, get my head down and fight back.

“I love meeting up with England but its good to be around the Tottenham training ground this week and work on what we have to do to climb the table.

“Right now that’s the most important thing. We have to concentrate on what is happening now, not things in the past which we can’t do anything about.

“We’re in this together and have to confront it.

“We have all sat around the dressing room talking about our problems and how to put them right.

“Now it’s time for a bit of action.”
