Redbridge Ladies South 5
Island Girls 0

THE girls got the home form monkey off their backs in fine fashion with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over the Island Girls who made the trip from Canvey.

Paris Miller nabbed the first after seven minutes with a great dribble through the centre of the Island defence. Mortimer gave Redbridge the all-important two-goal advantage three minutes later.

The Island Girls were not without opportunities in the first half but defenders Appleby and captain Sanderson dealt confidently with the breakaways.

In midfield, West was prominent in winning the ball and driving the team forward and, in attack, Georgia Miller was eye-catching with runs down the left.

For the second half, Sanderson replaced Grace in goal but found herself unemployed as Redbridge pinned Island in their own half.

Paris Miller added her second and then two almost identical goals with the ball being swept home after crosses from the right. The first was scored by Sheret and then Paris Miller to complete her hat-trick and win the player of the match award.

In between, Mortimer hit the post and Taylor went close on a couple of occasions.
