DEBDEN AS were at local lake John Fishery Upshire and guest rider Johnny Weeden took top honours with a mixed bag, fishing pole up in the water loose feeding casters for 57.8.0. Dave Williams was in second place, alternating between pole and feeder for 33lb and Big Frankie Haskett was third with 27.12.0. pole/pelletts. A miserable rainy day produced 322.12.0 of fish for the 21 riders out.

SOUTHEND FARM FISHERY, Waltham Abbey had a match with some cracking weigh-ins. Dave Hemmings was top with 22.0.0 from peg 17; 2nd Paul Dunn, 16.9.0 (J & B Tackle) peg 9; 3rd Richard Mansfield, 14.8.0. (Bromages). On Saturday, April 15th Steve Thorne was top with 43.0.0 (Terrapins AS) peg 26; 2nd Kenny Clark, 25.12.0 (Debden AS) peg 27; 3rd Dave Tarling, 24.8.0 (Terrapins AS). On Sunday, April 16 top was a double header for Steve Thorne with 95.8.0 (Terrapins AS); second Dave Gowers 49.8.0 (B & T); third Gordon Green 49.4.0 (B & T). On Easter Monday Doug Drew on peg one weighed in 57.8.0 (Oxhey); Kenny Clark was 2nd, 44.8.0 (Debden AS Peg 17 and Richard Mansfield 3rd, 20.8.0 (Bromages).

BRUNSWICK BROTHERS were at Hartland Fishery/Reservoir Lake. Gale-force winds made for hard fishing. Top place with 47.6.0 went to Bill Cannon to long pole and dog biscuits all carp (best a common at 14.8.0). Second place was Robert King with 31.15.0 fishing short pole with maggotts and pellets caught roach and carp and third place George Cole 29.5.0 mixed bag to pole/maggotts. Knock Out Cup First Round round results: R.King 31.15.0 bt T.Taylor 18.9.0; J.Barker 19.13.0 bt W. Lillywhite 13.8.0; M. Cole 22.2.0 bt P. Cannon 21.1.0. Sixteen members totalled 331.2.0.
