JAMES Bunn's double helped Leyton to sign off in style.

The 2005/06 campaign has largely been a disappointment for the Lilywhites, as they failed to build on last year's play-off finish and ended the season in 15th place.

But they can look towards the next one with some confidence after demolishing the Sussex club.

Worthing had the first shot when Danny Davis' fifth-minute shot was well saved by visiting stopper James Hasell.

Leyton were impressive in the opening stages and signalled their intentions with a good passing movement involving Mark Sophocleous, Frankie Curley and Daniel Tenkorang that ended with Victor Renner firing just over the top.

The hosts responded with a vicious Stafford Browne shot that Hasell had to deal with and, at the other end, Curley had a left-footed shot from 20 yards repelled by Worthing keeper Chuck Martini.

Leyton upped the pressure and four minutes later George Sifonios' shot was blocked by home defender Tarkan Mustafa and 60 seconds after that Bunn cracked a shot against the upright.

The visitors' pressure finally told seven minutes before the break when Sophocleous' free-kick from the right was nodded past Martini by Scott Honeyball.

The Lea Bridge Road side doubled their lead a minute after the restart when Bunn netted from close range following a slip by Martini.

Leyton were comfortable at 2-0, although Worthing substitute Paul Rogers tested Hasell with a left-footed effort from 25 yards.

The visitors made certain of the points 24 minutes from time when Bunn scored a penalty.

Sifonios then fired inches wide as Leyton threatened to run riot.
