LARKSWOOD Tang Soo Do club achieved an impressive 14-medal haul at the Central Championships in Watford.

The club were competing with teams from places including Sligo in Ireland and Edinburgh and were up against 300 other entrants which included a 100-strong Cambridgeshire group.

The tournament was open to Orange belt holders up to Third Dan Black belts.

The Chingford-based group amassed four gold medals and one bronze for forms in the U11s and junior 11-13 years classes. The male and female adults classes also gained two silver medals and a bronze in forms.

In the other category, free fighting, the team won two silver and four bronze medals overall.

Danny Griffiths, instructor of Larkswood Tang Soo Do club said: "It was a tremendous achievement from all at Larkswood considering that we are such a small club." The club are also set to compete at the National Tang Soo Do Championships in July.

Larkswood Tang Soo Do club is based at Larkswood Leisure Centre, New Road, Chingford.
