THE Williamhillcasino.com Test final promises to be a real thriller at Walthamstow tonight (Thursday) with the Paul Garland-trained Never Can Tell the favourite to take the £3,000 spoils.

The former track record holder for this 640m trip was in blistering form in qualification for the final and having been well drawn in five this wide runner is more than capable of replicating last week's performance.

Garland's charge produced the fastest calculated qualifying time of 39.68sec, and the flawless box-to-wire performance saw her come home some six-and-three-quarter lengths clear of Lady Aishling, who will line up in three.

The relatively inexperienced Cath's Queeny, who will be lining up in only his fourth competitive race tonight also looked impressive when stopping the clock in her heat at 39.77secs. And Seamus Cahill will be confident his bitch can improve his fantastic finals record of two wins from three since his switch to the east London track.

She was very lucky to catch Shelbourne Ryan, who had blasted out of the traps and looked set for victory before being caught on the line and beaten by a short head.

Daisyfield Seani produced the most dramatic of finishes in qualifying when just about holding off the challenge of Emporio Rebel by a short head.

Final trap draw: 1, Emporio Rebel; 2, Caths Queeny; 3, Lady Aishling; 4, Shelbourne Ryan; 5, Never Can Tell; 6, Daisyfield Seani.

On the supporting card there looks to be an interesting veterans standard that features six railers.

Despite being badly drawn in six, former Grand Prix winner Ronnies Flight has the class to take the spoils.

The better-drawn Lenson Supreme and Clonbrin Rocket in two and one respectively will provide the main challenge.

At the other end of the scale there's a fine-looking puppy standard down as race eight, where Peterborough Puppy Derby winner Too Risky looks likely to have enough class to take the spoils from two.

Courts Ad Queen in three has always looked impressive when stepping up the grades and won last time out at the Stow in open competition in 28.95secs.

And don't rule out Snappy Trapper in four who is more than cable of breaking his maiden tag in open competition.

Walthamstow's participation in the William Hill Derby at Wimbledon ended on Tuesday night after the east London track's last three dogs, Courts Ad Be, Milldean Billy and Vancouver Sparky, crashed out of the competition at the quarter-final stage.
