THE Lee Valley Lions bolstered their squad after securing the services of four players from last season.
Kwabina Oppong-Addai, Rob Courtman, Lithuanian Romanas Fedotovas and last season's skipper Darren Wakeling will all be returning to the Den next season.
Addai, previously of London rivals Haringey Greyhounds, played only eight games for the Lions in 2005/06 season but scored two goals and made four assists.
Courtman, another ex-Greyhound, also joined the Lions part way through last season and quickly proved to be a useful player.
Fedotovas is the club's first non-British signing of the new season.
The 24-year-old carpenter demonstrated both speed and skill last season with his ability to put the puck in the net despite playing in defence.
A second foreign player is also expected to sign for the club within the next few days, completing the squad for the upcoming campaign.
Lee Valley Lions' first game of the 2006/07 season will be against Basingstoke Buffalo at the Lee Valley Ice Centre on September 9, with face-off at 5.45pm.
The club are encouraging more people to get involved in ice hockey by offering free match tickets and posters, which are available via the club's website at www.lee valleylions.co.uk
