Ally McCoist has said that Rangers have not received an “official bid” from West Ham for striker Nikica Jelavic.
Reports today claimed the Hammers had offered £6m for the Croatian forward but the Rangers boss told stv: “They have not made an official bid. I’ve just checked on that.
“I think the reported amount would not be enough to meet the demands of our owner Craig (Whyte).
“Also, to be honest with you, I know Sam (Allardyce) very well. I think if there was any real interest then Sam and I would certainly be talking.”
The Ibrox club are said to have already rejected a bid of £6.5m for the forward, who has scored 36 goals since moving from Rapid Vienna in August 2010.
