WALTHAM Forest boss Ged Searson bemoaned his side's lack of threat in front of goal as they slumped to back to back 1-0 defeats over the Easter weekend.

The Stags had the better chances in both matches - against Tilbury on Saturday an Ilford on Monday - but could not force an opening goal.

And Searson warned his players that there is likely to be one or two new faces to his forward line for Saturday's clash with high flyers AFC Sudbury.

He said: "At the moment we're not looking like scoring - and if you don't score you don't win.

"Defensively we're looking solid, and our goalkeepers and midfield are strong. So obviously we're looking at the goalscoring situation at the moment.

"There will be a couple of new faces involved at the weekend, more experienced strikers to do a job."

A wind-assisted free kick proved enough for third-bottom Tilbury to take the points in a poor quality game dominated by the foul weather.

Gazmend Dauti missed the Stags best chance late on with a back post header that flew over, before Rashid Kamara was dismissed in stoppage time.

It was much the same story at home to basement boys Ilford two days later, as a solitary goal was enough to earn the visitors the points.

"It was very disappointing because we never got going," added Searson.

"It was atrocious weather conditions on Saturday but both sides have to play in it - Tilbury just adapted better than we did.

"We had the better chances but couldn't take them. It was the same story on Monday."

Worryingly, two defeats against fellow strugglers battling it out at the bottom of the Ryman One North table suddenly makes the threat of relegation a real possibility for Searson's men.

They are just seven points above second bottom Wivenhoe with six games to play.
