(Friendly)

LOUGHTON secured a memorable 13-run victory over the German national team.

The hosts won the toss in the Bank Holiday Monday game and elected to open the batting.

Despite losing opener Tony Auld (2) early on they progressed to 156-5 off their allotted 30 overs.

Michael Gymer with a fine knock of 68 scoring the bulk of the home side's runs.

The visitors, who are normally used to playing on artificial pitches put up a good chase, but the tight attack of Jordan Ramsden (2-16) and Chris Stephens (2-34) saw them come up just short.
